Our premarital counselling services can give tips for improving communication, and help you identify strengths and weaknesses in your current relationship. Potential problem areas are identified, and strategies for preventing problems are implemented within the premarital counseling framework.

If you believe that you and your partner struggle with understanding one another, a couples therapist can help you re-establish trust, empathy and understanding. Relationship problems do not have to be permanent; an investment in your relationship’s health can help you overcome struggles and reap major rewards in your quality of life.

When you got married, cheating was probably the last thing on your mind. However, sometimes in a marriage, affairs occur despite the best of initial intentions.

If infidelity is a problem in your relationship – or you think it might be – our therapists can help you to identify methods of surviving infidelity, restoring fidelity and rebuilding trust. Many couples who have faced infidelity and have chosen to stay together find that their relationships ultimately become stronger. Your couples therapist will not make the decision for you as to whether to stay together, but will help you achieve whatever goal you set for your relationship. Just because you have an unfaithful partner does not mean that your relationship is doomed to fail.  If you decide to separate, your couples counselor will help you make the transition. If you decide to stay together, your therapist will help you learn how to deal with infidelity and heal the relationship.

One method used therapeutically by our staff to facilitate the rebuilding of trust is the fidelity polygraph. This instrument is used to assess whether an individual is telling the truth about any alleged sexual misdeeds. Many people hire a private investigator to catch a cheating spouse. However, a fidelity polygraph is much more cost-effective than using a private investigator, and much more likely to promote marital healing after an affair. Use of the fidelity polygraph can be helpful for couples overcoming infidelity by allowing them to begin to let go of the past, and focus on building a healthy relationship for the future.

Online infidelity is becoming increasingly common, and many people who call our office are concerned that their husband, wife or partner is engaged in internet cheating. Men and women alike can struggle with emotional relationships with online partners, and counseling can help to set boundaries and allow relationships to recover from infidelity.

If you are dealing with infidelity, or you think your husband or wife is cheating, and need infidelity help, your first thought may be to call a divorce attorney. Before you call an attorney, call a couples therapist; we may be able to help you save your family. If you are coping with infidelity, you don’t have to face the uncertainty alone; a couples counselor can help you learn how to survive infidelity, guide you through the uncertainty and emotional confusion, and start the process of forgiving infidelity.
